<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Ada perbedaan antara Ujian Nasional tahun sebelumnya dengan Ujian Nasional tahun 2011 kali ini, Perbedaan itu tergambar dari <b>Sistim dan Kriteria Penilaian dalam Penentuan Kelulusan, Jenis Paket Soal dan Pelaksanaan Ujian Nasional itu sendiri.</b> Sistem penilaian UN dalam Penentuan kelulusan tahun ini menggunakan sistem penilaian terpadu. Sistem ini mengacu pada Permendiknas Nomor 45 tahun 2010 tentang Kriteria Kelulusan Peserta Didik pada jenjang SMP/Mts, SMP Luar Biasa, SMA/MA, SMA Luar Biasa dan SMK. Kriteria kelulusan yang dimaksud seperti yang tercantum dalam Pasal 2 adalah: </span></div>
